St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne softball defeated Principia College last night in both St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games, maintaining their undefeated SLIAC record (12-0) and recording their fourth consecutive shutout.
In the first game, Fontbonne extinguished Principia 8-0 in five innings while besting the Panthers 7-0 in game two.
On the nightcap, Madi Leonard struck out 18 batters in nine innings of work, gaining both wins while Lindsay Schaefer took the game two save. Both pitchers allowed just three hits and walked four.
Shannon Fitzpatrick drew five walks, hit a triple on two at-bats, drove in two runs and crossed home four times and took both attempted steals. Courtney Kedroski hit the only home run of the day down the left field line.
Fontbonne turned in 15 runs on 18 hits that included four doubles, two triples, one home run and 10 walks, whilst zero Fontbonne strikeouts were recorded.
Fontbonne travels to Blackburn Wednesday and returns to ABC Ballpark to host Westminster Thursday at 5 p.m.
