Softball falls to UW-Oshkosh in five; loses to Chicago in eight
The Griffins were shutout by UW-Oshkosh 11-0 in five innings. Fontbonne led the University of Chicago 6-2 before the Maroons tied the game in the bottom of the seventh.

Clermont, Fla. - After multiple errors the Griffins fell to the hands of Wisconsin Oshkosh 11-0 in five innings. Fontbonne then gave up a 6-2 lead against the University of Chicago. The Griffins are now 2-6 on the year.
OSHKOSH
Fontbonne trailed 0-2 before they took a beating from the Titans in the fourth inning where UW-Oshkosh scored eight runs. Fontbonne then lost the game in five innings after committing six errors and allowing 10 hits.
Diamond Thomas suffered the loss for the Griffins, her third of the year.
CHICAGO
The Griffins led 6-2 until Chicago scored two runs in the sixth. The Maroons then had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the seventh with two outs after they walked and singled. Fontbonne brought in freshman Brianna Durant to the circle to replace Maddy Strickland. Durant walked her first batter to load the bases. Chicago singled and with two runs scoring, tied the game 6-6. Fontbonne's coaching staff decided to put Strickland back in and the sophomore got out of the jam with a fly ball to left field.
In the eighth, Cooksey singled and then stole second. Fontbonne stranded McNiff on third along with Cooksey after Kedroski, Modglin and Fields got put out in the field.
The Maroons came back to win the game in the bottom of the 8th on a hit up the middle. The Titans sent Moss who was placed on second all the way home for the win.
In the game, McNiff went 2-4 with two runs scored and two RBI's. Sam Brown's double secured Fontbonne's fifth run of the game. Stickland fanned four in her first 5.1 innings pitched. She suffered her third loss of the season.
Fontbonne is off on Wednesday before taking on Luther and Hope on Thursday and Bowdoin and Tufts on Friday.
