ST. LOUIS, Mo.— For the first time this season, Fontbonne University softball pitcher, Diamond Thomas, has been named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Pitcher of the Week.
Thomas, a Waynesville, Missouri, native, had a strong week on the rubber after going 2-0, tossing 7.0 innings of shutout ball, allowing two hits and striking out two. She's now 3-4 on the season and lowered her ERA down to 4.54.
She's the second Griffin to win Pitcher of the Week. Earlier in the year, Maddy Strickland took home the award.
The Griffins return to the diamond this Wednesday in a key SLIAC outing against Greenville. First-pitch at 3 p.m., from ABC Park.
