ST. LOUIS, Mo.—For the second time this season, the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced Maddy Strickland as the Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Strickland, a High Ridge, Missouri, native, had herself a week on the mound. Against Webster, she tossed a no-hitter in just 5.0 innings of work and struck out three.
Her success continued against Spalding where she picked up her sixth win on the season after going the distance, allowing one run on four hits and sitting down five. On the year, she's now 6-8 with a 4.32 ERA in 82.2 innings of work and has struck out 54 hitters.
At the dish, Strickland hit over .470, totaled eight RBI and belted two more homers to give her a team-high seven on the season.
The Griffins return to action tonight in a key road doubleheader against Westminster. First-pitch will be thrown at 5 p.m.
