Game One
Score: Missouri Baptist 2, Fontbonne 1

How It Happened
In the bottom of the third, the Griffins dropped out to a 1-0 lead. Emily McNiff led off with a hit-by-pitch and eventually worked her way over to third. Maddy Strickland brought McNiff home with a sacrifice-fly to give them the early advantage.
In the sixth, though the Spartans plated two runs on RBI from Rachel Galbraith and Ally Gischer to go up one. Fontbonne had the tying run reach base in the seventh, however, the Spartans escaped the threat for the one-run victory.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Diamond Thomas fell to 5-10 after allowing two runs on five hits and totaled three strikeouts.
- Brianna Durant saw action for the first time in 2019 and allowed no runs in her 2.0 innings pitched.
- Emelia Modglin led at the plate going 3-for-4.
Missouri Baptist Leaders
- Delissa Dennison got the win for the Spartans after striking out nine in 6.0 innings.
- Mackenzie Schweizer came out of the pen to earn the save.
- Makenzie Harbaugh and Gischer had two hits each.

How It Happened
After the Spartans plated two in the first, the Griffins chipped away at the lead starting in the third. With Grace Harlin on second, Emelia Modglin plated the freshman with an RBI single to right. Then in the fourth, Melanie Russo led off with a double.
After a groundout, Russo tied the game after scoring on Lexi Becker's RBI groundout. Missouri Baptist took a 3-2 lead in the fifth, but in the bottom half the Griffins answered right back.
Harlin legged out a one-out triple to right-center to put Fontbonne in business. She touched home on Emily McNiff's sacrifice-fly to right to tie the game.
In the sixth, though the Spartans put the game away scoring three runs on five hits to go on for the three-run victory.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Maddy Strickland fell to 3-7 on the year after allowing six runs (four earned) and struck out four
- Modglin and Harlin had two hits each.
Missouri Baptist Leaders
- Ally Dunaway earned her eighth win on the year after tossing 6.0 innings and striking out three.
- Madalyn Bone and Galbraith contributed two hits apiece.
