Thomas And Richmond Earn SLIAC Postseason Awards
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced the 2019 All-Conference Teams today. Diamond Thomas earned Second Team honors as a utility player, while Abby Richmond was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced the 2019 All-Conference Teams today. Diamond Thomas earned Second Team honors as a utility player, while Abby Richmond was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Thomas, a Waynesville, Mo., native, is named to the Second Team for the first time in her career after picking up Third Team honors the last two seasons.
This year, the senior batted a career-high .390 at the plate, totaling 41 hits, 27 runs scored, six doubles, three triples, one homer, and 13 RBI. She also set new career-high marks in on-base percentage (.448), and slugging percentage (.533).
Inside the circle, the hurler went 5-10 in a career-high 89.1 innings pitched. She also struck out a career-high 44 batters and owned a 4.07 ERA.
In her career, Thomas closes out at the plate with 106 hits, 77 runs scored, 13 doubles, eight triples, six homers, 41 RBI, and a .337 batting average. On the rubber, she concludes with 14 wins in 243.1 innings pitched, tallied 114 strikeouts, and a 3.65 ERA.
Richmond, meanwhile, ended her first season with the Griffins with nine hits, eight runs scored and seven RBI.
