Head coach Chris Buckler and staff are excited for the team's accomplishments in their first season. Throughout both indoor and outdoor seasons, the Griffins set 36 new Fontbonne all-time records, had three athletes awarded SLIAC Athlete of the Week and two named SLIAC Invite Champions. Multiple records were broken more than once, with Both the men's and women's outdoor teams finished fourth at the SLIAC Outdoor Invitational, the highest finish in the history of the program.
Every student-athlete that competed in the track seasons, are currently ranked in the school's Top-10 performance list, in at least one event.
Looking into the 2016-2017 season, the team will return 10 student-athletes that will be joined by the largest recruiting class in the program's history. "We hope to continue the progress made in our inaugural year as we strive to build a national program," comments Buckler.
