Katie Gosser, Murray and Wilson All Set New Records At The Red Hawk Open

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.—The Fontbonne University track and field teams were in action this evening at the Red Hawk Open.
On the men's side, Quinn Wilson and Greih Murray highlighted the group. Wilson set a personal-best and all-time record in the long jump at 5.60 m (18-04.50). He also broke the record in the triple jump, ending with a mark of 11.52 m (37-09.50).
Murray joined Wilson on the record breaking day. The freshman set a new PR and all-time record in the shot put, clearing 10.50 m (34-05.50). In the weight throw, he just came short of his record but still finished in eighth at 10.34 m (33-11.25).
Brian Nguyen competed in the 55-meter dash and ended with a time of 7.12 which is good enough for third all-time in the record book. In the 400-meter dash, the duo of Juwan Lee (1:02.94) and Yates (1:05.97), closed out in eighth and ninth place respectively.
Dixon and Lee both had strong performances in the 800-meter dash. Dixon, a freshman, finished in fifth at 2:26.03, while Lee closed out right behind him at 2:28.05.
Hayden Yates and Jacob Dixon both competed in the long jump and Yates ended at 4.83 m (15-10.25), while Dixon closed out at 4.61 m (15-01.50).
On the women's side, Katie Gosser set an all-time record in the 55-meter hurdles. In the prelims, she beat her personal-best at 10.92 and ended the finals at 11.02, just .02 better than her current record. Colleen Gosser finished in sixth at 11.60, while Emily Bay rounded out in seventh (11.65).
In the 55-meter dash, Katie Gosser (8.30), Kayla Sheldon (8.34) and Emily Bay (8.40), all finished in ninth, 10th and 11th place. Sheldon went on to compete in the 800-meter dash and finished in eighth with a time of 2:46.47.
In the field events, Katie and Colleen Gosser competed in the long jump. Katie Gosser closed out with a mark of 3.98 m (13-00.75). Colleen Gosser, though set a personal-record at 3.86 m (12-08.00).
Sierra Moore led in the shot put at 11.75 m for eighth place, while Mackenze Daniel ended up in ninth with a toss of 9.94 m. Amelia Tregoning, meanwhile, set a new personal-record at 8.98 m.
In the weight throw, the quartet of Moore, Daniel, Bay and Tregoning all took part. Moore paced with her final mark of 11.81 m for ninth place. Daniel ended at 11.73 m which was good enough for 10th, while Bay set a personal-record of 10.22 m. Tregoning closed out at 8.38 m.
