Bay Earns SLIAC Track Athlete Of The Week Honors
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced Emily Bay as the Track Athlete of the Week. Bay is honored by the SLIAC for the second time this season after winning Field Athlete of the Week last week.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced Emily Bay as the Track Athlete of the Week. Bay is honored by the SLIAC for the second time this season after winning Field Athlete of the Week last week.
Bay, a Union, Missouri, native, picked up her first win on the season in the javelin after finishing with a mark of 29.96 at the MSJ Invitational.
She also competed in the 4x400-meter relay with Kayla Sheldon, Colleen Gosser and Katie Gosser, and they turned out with a time of 4:48.14 which is a top three record all-time. The quartet took part in the 4x100-meter relay and set a new personal-best time of 56.71.
Bay set another personal-record in the 100-meter dash as she crossed the line at 14.40 for fourth, while closing out in sixth at 30.63 in the 200-meter dash.
The Griffins return to action this weekend at the SLIAC Outdoor Championships.
