Track & Field Closes Out Its First Indoor Meet At Principia
ELSAH, Ill.—The Fontbonne University track and field teams closed out its first meet today at the Principia Relays.
ELSAH, Ill.—The Fontbonne University track and field teams closed out its first meet today at the Principia Relays.
On the women's side, in the field events Emily Bay, Caitlyn Ulery, Sierra Moore and Mackenze Daniel took part in the shot put.
Moore finished in seventh place overall with a mark of 10.73 m. Daniel followed in 13th place at 9.95 m, while Ulery's best throw landed at 8.71 m. Bay, meanwhile, best throw came on her third ending at 8.31 m.
In the running events, Desiree Brooks competed in the one-mile run and finished in 10th place at 6:16.19 which places her eighth all-time. Colleen Gosser also took part in the mile run and ran her way to a time of 6:30.86 for 13th place. In the 300-meter run, Tara Weiskopf-Kuehn timed out at 1:01.82.
In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of Natalie Zmuda, Dixon, Destiny Jackson and Katie Gosser finished with a time of 4:36.43 for sixth place. That time was also good enough for second all-time.
On the men's side in the shot put, Greih Murray finished in 18th place with a throw of 9.45 m, while Hayden Thompson's best mark came on his third at 7.61 m.
In the mile run, Austin Joyce crossed the line at 5:20.46 for 19th place, while Juwan Lee finished the race at 5:56.84. in the 300-meter run, Lee finished with a time of 42.99 which is good enough for second all-time as well. Joyce went on to close out his day in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:00.11 and that placed him seventh all-time.
