4x100-Meter Relay Team And Zmuda Set New School Records At SLU
ST. LOUIS, Mo.— It was another successful day in the books for track and field at the SLU Billiken Invite with another school record being broken and more personal-records being set. The women’s team ended up in third, while the men finished out in fifth.

How It Happened
On the women's side, highlighting the day on the track side was the 4x100-meter relay team of Tamya Dixon, Natalie Zmuda, Katie Gosser, and Emily Bay as they set a school-record with a time of 52.65. That time breaks the previous mark of 52.80 set back in 2016.
Zmuda also set a school-record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.07, which is over 2.0 seconds faster than the previous time.
In the field events, Raven Venegas went on for the win with a throw of 12.61 m in the shot put. Jillian Venegas hit a personal-record of 11.62 m for third place, while Mackenze Daniel followed in sixth at 9.96 m. Emily Bay ended with a throw of 9.10 m and Amelia Tregoning just missed her PR with a mark of 9.00 m.
In the discus, Raven Venegas earned her second win on the day at 37.10 m. Jillian Venegas easily cleared her previous PR of 30.74 m to finish at 34.27 m. Tregoning finished out in sixth at 28.86 m, while Daniel ended her day at 23.87 m.
In the high jump, Maris Fusiek hit a new personal-record of 1.37 m for the sixth place. In the 1500-meter run, the duo of Desiree Brooks and Colleen Gosser both hit personal-record times of 5:37.53 and 5:40.45. Those times also place them in the top-10 all-time in the event.
In the 400-meter run, Brooks timed out at 1:11.51 for a PR, while C. Gosser crossed the line right behind her at 1:13.14.
In the 100-meter dash, Zmuda finished in sixth place with a time of 13.17 and that's good enough for second place all-time. Dixon's time of 13.50 places her fourth all-time, while Bay hit a PR time of 14.06. Maris Fusiek also competed in the event and finished at 15.26.
Zmuda also ended up in seventh in the 200-meter dash at 27.11 and that slides her into third all-time. Dixon comes in eighth all-time at 28.52, while Fusiek (32.18) and Tara Weiskopf-Kuehn (37.05) also took part in the event. In the 800-meter run, K. Gosser collected another PR by 4.0 seconds with a time of 2:38.93.
On the men's side in the field events, Hayden Thompson easily hit a personal-record throw of 22.79 m. In the shot put, Thompson collected another PR of 7.12 m.
In the 1500-meter run, Austin Joyce beat PR time by 6.0 seconds to conclude at 4:56.17. Juwan Lee also beat his previous PR time, this one by 14.0 seconds, to conclude at 5:13.43.
The duo also competed in the 400-meter run with Lee ending at 1:02.54, while Joyce ended the race at 1:04.00.
