Record Setting Season Continues For Track & Field, Jillian Venegas Sets School Record In Discus
JOLIET, Mo.— Another successful meet is in the books for the Fontbonne University track and field teams as more personal-records were set and another school-record fell thanks to Jillian Venegas.

How It Happened
Highlighting the day was Jillian Venegas in the discus with a school-record mark of 38.02 m. Raven Venegas finished out at 36.48 m for sixth and Sierra Moore ended the event in 10th at 33.75 m. Amelia Tregoning closed out at 30.02 m, while Caitlin Ulery earned a personal-record for herself at 27.90 m.
Raven Venegas led in the shot put with a throw of 12.74 m for second place. Jillian Venegas hit another PR for the second straight meet at 11.81 m for fifth, while Moore ended at 10.54 m for 14th. Katie Gosser also competed in the event and ended at 8.10 m.
In the hammer, Raven Venegas just missed out on her school-record with a mark of 45.40 m for fifth place. Jillian Venegas had a throw of 37.81 m for a personal-record and Emily Bay finished at 31.90 m. Tregoning landed a mark of 29.87 m and Ulery had another PR as well at 23.90 m.
In the javelin, it was Bay leading at 27.57 m for 10th place. Moore came up a tad short of her PR at 24.02 m, while Raven Venegas followed at 23.75 m. Katie Gosser had a throw of 21.96 m and Tregoning closed out at 19.43 m. Jillian Venegas ended at 16.72 m and Ulery finished at 15.90 m.
In the high jump, Maris Fusiek cleared 1.30 m (4-03.25) and Bay tied her personal-record at 1.30 m (4-03.25) as well.
In the track events, Colleen Gosser had a time of 21:47.23 which is a new personal-record. In the 1500-meter run, the personal-records continued with Desiree Brooks solidifying one for herself at 5:37.23.
In the 800-meter run, Katie Gosser timed out at 2:43.75, while Brooks ended at 2:57.43. In the 100-meter dash, Bay (14.67), Anna Takano (14.84), and Fusiek (15.14) each competed in the event. K. Gosser also competed in the 200-meter dash at 29.24 and Takano ended at 29.77.
On the men's side in the field events, Greih Murray led Fontbonne at 27.84 m, while Hayden Thompson finished out at 21.54 m.
In the hammer throw, Murray and Thompson both hit a personal-record with Murray closing out at 32.21 m for second place all-time and Thompson's throw landed at 21.90 m.
In the shot put, Murray hurled a throw of 10.19 m and Thompson concluded at 7.35 m, both of which are personal-record marks. The duo also competed in the discus with Murray finishing at 31.26 m and Thompson hitting another PR at 18.34 m.
In the track events, Austin Joyce competed and ran his way to a time of 19:06.49. Juwan Lee ran in the 800-meter run and hit a personal-record at 2:28.44. Lee also improved his PR by 4.0 seconds in the 1500-meter run concluding at 5:09.49.
