How It Happened
In the heptathlon, Katie Gosser went on to set a school-record with 3098 points. In the long jump, she landed at 4.30 m, in the javelin K. Gosser had a throw of 26.71 m, and in the 800-meter dash she timed out at 2:40.02.
Another school-record was broken on Saturday as the 4x400-meter relay team of Natalie Zmuda, K. Gosser, Anna Takano, and Tamya Dixon closed out with a time of 4:30.76 which breaks the previous record that's lasted four years.
The quartet also took part in the 4x100-meter relay and its time of 52.93 places them third all-time in the Fontbonne record book.
Zmuda also took part in the 100-meter hurdles and timed out at 18.00. In the 200-meter dash, she crossed the line at 27.41. Zmuda (13.27), Dixon (13.59), Maris Fusiek (15.21) and Tara Weiskopf-Kuehn (17.49) competed in the 100-meter dash.
In the field events, Sierra Moore led with a 16th place finish at 24.49 m. Emily Bay (23.68 m), and Caitlyn Ulery (19.38 m), also took part in the event.
In the discus, Raven Venegas set a personal-record with a throw of 37.57 m. Jillian Venegas landed at 36.81 m for fifth place, while Sierra Moore had a landing mark of 34.55 m for ninth. Ulery hit a personal-record as well at 28.83 m.
Raven Venegas collected her second third place finish on the day in the shot put at 12.23 m. Jillian Venegas closed out in seventh at 11.46 m, while Sierra Moore had a throw of 10.90 m. B
Bay had personal-record mark of 9.34 m and Ulery finished just short of her personal-record today at 8.49 m. Maris Fusiek earned herself a personal-record in the high jump with a clearance of 1.42 m (4'7.75").
Colleen Gosser was the lone Fontbonne competitor in the 800-meter dash and ended at 2:45.73.
In the 1500-meter run, Desiree Brooks (5:45.79) and C. Gosser (5:45.84), both finished nearly at the same time.
In the shot put on the men's side, Hayden Thompson had a throw of 7.18 m. Thompson did earn a personal-record in the javelin at 29.30 m.
In the 1500-meter run, Austin Joyce finished at 5:00.88 and Juwan Lee also came up just short of a new personal-record with a time of 5:13.03.
They also ran in the 800-meter dash and Lee was 3.0 seconds off his PR time as he concluded at 2:23.39. Joyce, meanwhile, set a personal-record at 2:30.89.
