Tyree Simms Breaks Four School Records At Missouri S&T; Webb Sets Record In Triple Jump

In the shot put, Simms hit a mark of 12.46 m for 17th place. He finished in 19th in the discus with a mark of 36.79 m, while in the hammer he finished in 14th at 38.09 m. His fourth and final record was in the javelin at 40.15 m.
Andre Webb also broke a school record in the triple jump finishing at 12.02 m for 13th place. He also competed in the 100-meter dash ending with a time of 12.03.
In the throws events on the men's side, Marc-Quan Daniels finished in 27th in the shot put at 10.98 m. Mark Fisher (9.72 m), Tyler Green (8.17 m), and Spencer Parkinson (8.04 m) also had outdoor PRs in the event.
In the discus, Fisher ended at 35.29 m for 23rd. Marc-Quan Daniels had a mark of 28.81 m, while Green (25.16 m), Parkinson (23.05 m), and Ian Cordell (19.95 m) rounded out the field for the Griffins.
Fisher (27.18 m), Green (25.65 m), Marc-Quan Daniels (25.45 m), and Cordell (22.97 m) also competed in the hammer. In the javelin, Fisher ended at 32.22 m, while Bradley Forrest made his debut in the field events at 24.28 m.
KeYonn Hall-Baker competed in the high jump clearing 1.83 m for sixth place. In the 200, Hall-Baker timed out at 24.32.
On the women's side, Ogechi Okpara led in the shot put at 9.87 m, while Jessica Ballard had an outdoor PR of 9.03 m. Okpara had a personal record toss of 26.95 m in the discus, while Ballard followed with another PR of 19.09 m.
Holly Pearce made her outdoor debut in the hammer finishing at 36.27 m for 12th. Okpara was right behind her in 19th at 31.45 m.
Katie Leeker also made her Griffins debut for the track and field team competing in the 1500 with a time of 6:41.86 for PR. Dominic Mueller (4:47.63) and Christopher Strange (5:04.07) also competed in the 1500 with new PRs.
In the 100-meter dash, Madelyn Huffstetter crossed the line with a time of 13.52. Alexa Lofgren hit a PR in the 200-meter with a time of 27.52.
