Simms Break School Records Once Again, Okpara and 11 Others Hit New PRs at Mobile Invitational
MOBILE, Ala. – The Fontbonne University men’s and women’s track and field traveled to Alabama to compete at the University of Mobile Invitational. Freshman Tyree Simms broke the school record once again in both Javelin and Hammer. Ogechi Okpara places fourth in both discus and shot put.
MOBILE, Ala. – The Fontbonne University men's and women's track and field traveled to Alabama to compete at the University of Mobile Invitational. Freshman Tyree Simms broke the school record once again in both Javelin and Hammer. Ogechi Okpara places fourth in both discus and shot put.
THROWS:
Simms placed sixth in the hammer with a 40.87-meter throw. He finished eighth in the javelin with a 41.52-meter mark. He also finished eighth in the shot put with a 10.92-meter toss.
Marc-Quan Daniels hit a new personal record placing seventh in the shot put with a 11.24-meter toss. He finished 15th in the discus with a 29.23-meter throw. He also finished ninth in the hammer hitting a new PR with a 25.50-meter throw.
In the shot put, Tyler Green placed 12th with a 9.40-meter toss while Spencer Parkinson finished right behind him in 13th place with an 8.84-meter toss.
Green also hit a new personal mark in the hammer after finishing eighth with a 29.60-meter throw.
Mark Fisher finished 10th in the discus with a 33.72-meter throw. He hit a new PR in the hammer after placing seventh with a 32.75-meter throw. He also finished 12th in the javelin with a 28.67-meter throw.
Ian Cordell finished 10th in the hammer with a 19.73-meter throw. He also finished 13th in the javelin with a 28.36-meter throw.
Bradley Forrest grabbed a new PR in the javelin with a 29.34-meter throw that placed him 11th.
Ogechi Okpara finished fourth in the discus with a 28.89-meter toss to achieve a new PR. She also placed fourth in the shot put with a 10.44-meter toss. In the hammer, she placed fifth with a 32.78-meter throw.
Jessica Ballard placed eighth in the discus hitting a new PR with a 22.72-meter throw. She also finished ninth in the shot put with a 9.35-meter toss.
Holly Pearce finished fifth in the hammer with a 32.78-meter throw.
JUMP:
Bradley Forrest finished sixth in the pole vault with a 2.89-meter jump.
SPRINT:
KeYonn Hall-Baker finished 13th in the 400-meters run with a 55.74.
In the 200-meter run, Alexa Lofgren placed 15th with a time of 28.25 and Madelyn Huffstetter placed 16th with a time of 28.40.
In the 400-meter run, Lofgren finished 10th with a time 1:03.52.
RELAY:
The 4x800 meter relay comprised of: Hoekel, Mueller, Strange, and Forrest. They hit a new PR with a time of 10:06.88.
DISTANCE:
Dominic Mueller placed 16th in the 1500-meter run with a 4:45.35 time for a new personal record.
Katie Leeker finished eighth in the 5000-meter run with a time of 25:30.83.
