Huffstetter Earned CSC Academic All-District Recognition
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) announced the 2023 Track & Field Academic All-District award winners Wednesday morning, and Fontbonne University athlete Madelyn Huffstetter earned the distinct honor.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) announced the 2023 Track & Field Academic All-District award winners Wednesday morning, and Fontbonne University athlete Madelyn Huffstetter earned the distinct honor.
To be nominated for the All-District Team, a student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at the institution, be a started or important reserve and hold at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average at his current institution.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 28.
Madelyn Huffstetter, a senior from Genevive, Mo., was named the 2023 SLIAC Indoor All-Conference in the 60 Meter Dash and the 2023 SLIAC Outdoor All-Conference in the 100 Meter Dash. She recorded a new personal record in the 100 Meter Dash at the 2023 SLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 13.07 and a third-place finish. She also improved her personal record mark in the 60 Meter Dash at the 2023 SLIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships with an 8.09 time and a second-place finish.
She was also selected Indoor All-Conference award three more times in her careers as well as Outdoor All-Conference two other times during her time at Fontbonne. In 2021, Huffstetter tabbed Field Athlete of the Year.
