Bio

Greg Cross Jr. begins his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Fontbonne University track & field programs in 2023-24, working primarily with sprints, hurdles, and relays.

While at Fontbonne, Cross has helped produce 14 SLIAC All-Conference performances and one SLIAC Champion, Alexa Lofgren; the school's first-ever sprint champion in school history. Student-athletes under his guidance have set eight school records, In 2021, Maddy Huffstetter was named SLIAC Newcomer of the Year in the SLIAC Championship.

He came to Fontbonne from Illinois College, where he was a volunteer assistant coach for one season and a former student-athlete. As an athlete, Cross was a two-time MWC 100m champion, 2017-18 MWC indoor 4x2 and 4x4 champion, 201 outdoor 4x100 champion, and part of the 2018 All-Region 4x100 relay team that finished 14th nationally.

Cross graduated from IC in 2018 and received his Master's Degree from SIUE in 2020. He has a USATF Level One Certification, a USTFCCCA Sprints, Hurdles & Relays Events Specialist Certification, USTFCCCA Speed Specialist Certification, and USTFCCCA CSCS Certification.
