Mount Pleasant, Iowa - Fontbonne women's basketball suffered a rough first-quarter, leading to a 88-67 loss to Iowa Wesleyan. The Tigers made 11 of 22 attempts from long range Kaylee Moselesy drained six of seven herself, on her way to totaling 23 points while Rachel Williams topped 29 points with three three-pointers. The Griffins are now 1-3 on the season as Iowa Wesleyan moves to 5-1.
DeAmbra Pilkinton led the Griffins in scoring for the second game in a row, this time tallying 14 points with four assists. Jessica Jordan recorded 12 points with six rebounds while junior Emmie Haring finished with 10 points and five rebounds. Freshman Kaitlynn Walker nailed her first two three-point attempts on back-to-back possessions by Fontbonne in the fourth quarter. Erika Kuhn pulled in six defensive rebounds while Chelsy Gibson scored on three of her five field goal attempts.
Fontbonne committed their fewest turnovers of the season today, recording nine in the loss.
The Griffins have a week off and will return to Mabee Gymnasium next Saturday when they host Spalding University at 1 p.m.
