Rylee Stafford contributed 13 off the bench, while Jillian Venegas netted a season-high 10 off the bench as well. Raven Venegas, meanwhile, went 5-of-8 from the field to finish with 11 points.
Blackburn (1-5; 0-2 SLIAC), never got its offense going against the Griffins press, finishing with 25 turnovers. Off the bench, Elisabeth Johnston led with a team-high 12 points. Kate Smith was the final player in double-figures with 11.
In the first quarter, Fontbonne took a 12-2 lead out of the gate on Black's 3-pointer. The team stayed in control the rest of the way, stretching its lead out to 28-13 after one. Fontbonne shot an impressive 58.8 percent from the floor and were led by Black's eight points in the first.

Later, with 4:13 to go, Katie Sportsman sank her lay-up and that put the Griffins well out in front at 46-19. Fontbonne dominated the rest of the way and headed into the locker room on top, 53-26.
In the third, Fontbonne had its struggles from the floor shooting just 23.1 percent. However, despite being outscored 17-14 in the third, the Griffins still held Blackburn to a 28.6 field goal percentage and forced seven more turnovers to lead 67-43 going into the fourth.
In the final quarter, Johnston's made bucket cut the deficit down to 69-50 with 7:53 to go. The Griffins, however responded on Sarah Schraut's made 3-pointer to put the lead back out at 22 (72-50).
With the Griffins bouncing back shooting 50.0 percent from the floor in the fourth that proved to be more than enough with Fontbonne going on for the 28-point win.
The team will now head down the road next Saturday as they'll take on rival Webster. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
