Falvey becomes first women's golfer to win a tournament
Fontbonne University freshman golfer Gina Falvey (Cape Coral, FL) won the Illinois College Invitational this weekend in Jacksonville, Illiois firing rounds of 85 and 86. Falvey two round total of 171 was a stroke better than the second place competitor and nine strokes better than the third place finisher.Falvey becomes the first female golfer in school history to win a collegiate tournament.
Falvey has already set several school records this season but this was her first career collegiate victory in a tourment. This past fall, Falvey finished in second place at the Oaklandy City Invitational.
As a team, Fontbonne finished in fourth place in the Illinois College Tournament. Falvey and her teammates will be back on the links later this month competing in the Hannibal LaGrange Tournament in Hannibal, Missouri.
