Women's golf making strides in last fall outing
Stevens Point, Wis. - Fontbonne women's golf finished tied for eighth place out of 14 teams over the weekend at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invite, tieing the host institution with a team score of 725 (+141). The finish is the best of the season, one shot better than their fall season opener. The Stevens Point Country Club housed a par 73 on 5802 yards with 78 players.
Sophomore Gina Falvey led the Griffin charge finishing tied for fourth, shooting 81 both days and finishing 16 over par, just two shots behind the leader.
Junior Kaylee Huelsing had a rough first outing, scoring 95 but rebounded on day two to shoot 87, for a 35th place finish, tieing one other player.
Senior Natalie Heck's day one finish of 92 followed by day two's 98 outing put her in 48th place.
Sophomore Mary Seise was right behing Heck tied for 49th place after shooting her season best 92 on the first day and 99 on day two.
The Mad Dawg Invite concludes the Griffins' official fall season.
