Women's Golf Finishes In Second At The SLIAC Championship
EUREKA, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s golf team closed out the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Championship in second place with a 281-over par 857 (419-438).
EUREKA, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's golf team closed out the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Championship in second place with a 281-over par 857 (419-438).
Spalding took home the SLIAC Championship with a 99-over par 675 (332-343). Iowa Wesleyan ended up in third at 299-over par 875 (420-455).
Individually, Spalding occupied the top four spots including the overall winner which went to Kassidy Wallin at 21-over par 165 (84-81) she defeated fellow teammate, Taylor Thompson, on a playoff hole for the title.
Fontbonne, meanwhile, was led by Maddi Vandervort after she scored a 36-over par 180 (86-94) for fifth place. Hannah Householder finished right behind her in sixth with a 41-over par 185 (93-92) and that was good enough for ninth.
After scoring 13-over par on the front nine, Householder was able to bounce back on the final nine as she scored a 7-over par which was a seven stroke improvement from round one.
Courtney Kedrowski closed out the two day tournament inside the Top 15 with a 93-over par 237 for 14th place, while Melanie Russo ended her day in 18th.
At the conclusion of the SLIAC Championship, Vandervort was named to the All-Conference First Team, while Householder was named to the Second Team. Vandervort also got honored with the All-Sportsmanship Award.
