Women's Golf Gets Its Spring Season Started At The Rhodes Invite
MEMPHIS, Tenn.—The Fontbonne University women’s golf team competed in round one today at the Rhodes Invitational. The Griffins shot a 129-over par and currently stand in sixth place.
MEMPHIS, Tenn.—The Fontbonne University women's golf team competed in round one today at the Rhodes Invitational. The Griffins shot a 129-over par and currently stand in sixth place.
Huntingdon College owns the top spot with a 20-over par 312. Host Rhodes College is right behind them at 24-over par 316, while Wittenberg University holds down third at 29-over par 321.
Individually, Jane Hopkinson-Wood (Wittenberg) and Vanessa Leiterman (Huntingdon), are tied for first with a 1-over par 74.
Sammi Charpentier leads the trio of Griffins with a 19-over par 92. Starting on the back nine, Charpentier totaled one par, five bogeys and three double-bogeys. On the front nine, she had more success with three pars to finish in 25th place.
Hannah Householder, meanwhile, shot her way to a 27-over par 100. She compiled two pars and eight bogeys. Maddi Vandervort, though is right behind her in 32nd place with a 31-over par 104. On the back nine, Vandervort earned a birdie on the par-five 445 yard 14th hole.
Casey Linsenbardt also competed for the Griffins and ended up in 36th place at 53-over par (126).
