Men's Wrestling Earns First Dual Win Over MSOE
ADRIAN, Mich.- The Fontbonne University men’s wrestling team competed at the Adrian College Duals today and the Griffins earned its first win in program history against MSOE.

Match 1 – Adrian 46, Fontbonne 0
How It Happened
In the first match of the day, the Bulldogs opened with Mateo Diaz winning a 4-1 decision at 125 pounds over Austin Cornell. From there, the Bulldogs were able to win the rest of the matches and go on for the 46-0 win.
Match 2 – Ohio Northern 46, Fontbonne 6
How It Happened
In the second match of the day, the Griffins continued to compete well but Ohio Northern won the first nine straight matches to collect a 46-0 lead. The Griffins got in the board in the finale with Joey Johnson earning the forfeit win at 285 pounds.
Match 3 – Fontbonne 26, MSOE 24
How It Happened
In the third match of the afternoon, the Griffins opened with two forfeit wins at 125 and 133 pounds to grab the 12-0 lead.
At 141 pounds, Noah Patton won by technical fall (20-2) over Gianni Rago to extend the lead out to 17-0. The success carried over into 149-pound division with David Vance winning a 14-8 decision over Eddie Diaz Barragan to give Fontbonne the 20-0 lead.
However, MSOE went on to win the next five matches to grab 24 points and the four-point advantage over Fontbonne. In the heavyweight division, Johnson came through with the fall win at 4:10 over Dechlan Sparrow to give Fontbonne its first dual win in program history.
Match 4 – Wisconsin-Stevens Point 52, Fontbonne 6
How It Happened
The Griffins grabbed the first six points in the match with Austin Cornell winning by forfeit at 125 pounds. However, Wisconsin-Stevens Point went on to win the next nine matches, including seven by fall en route to the 52-6 win.
