Match 1 – Concordia-Moorhead 55, Fontbonne 0
How It Happened
Concordia-Moorhead opened with a win by pin fall at 125-pounds. From there, they went on to win the rest of the matches over the Griffins for the 55-0 win.
Match 2 – Buena Vista 45, Fontbonne 9
How It Happened
After Buena Vista won at both 125 and 133-pounds, the Griffins got on the board at 141-pounds with Noah Patton earning a fall win at 2:22.
However, Buena Vista went on to win the next six matches to grab a 45-6 lead. At 285 pounds, Joey Johnson closed out the match with a 6-1 decision win to collect three points for Fontbonne.
Match 3 – Central Christian 36, Fontbonne 22
How It Happened
At 125-pounds, the Griffins grabbed the early lead with Austin Cornell earning a major decision, 16-4, win over Chris Ray. After Central Christian regained the lead, the Griffins got six more points from Noah Patton as he picked up a quick fall win in 46.0 seconds.
Central Christian collected 12 points over the next two matches to lead 18-12. Ryan Howerton went on to win by forfeit, but Central Christian followed that up at 174-pounds with a technical fall win.
At 184-pounds, Dalton Rawlins earned a fall win in 56.0 seconds time to give Fontbonne the advantage back, 22-21. CCC went on to win the final two matches en route to the 36-22 win.
