After dropping a heartbreaker to Simpson College on Friday night, the Fontbonne University women's soccer team rebounded by earning a tie against Nebraska Wesleyan University on Sunday. The Griffins tied the Prarie Wolves 0-0 to improve to 2-1-2 on the season.
Fontbonne junior goalkeeper Meggin Werner recorded seven saves in the game to record her third shutout of the season. The Griffins have now allowed just two goals in five games to start the season.
Fontbonne freshman Savannah Davis and junior Kayla Thorpe had two shots apiece on goal for the Griffins. Fontbonne returns to the pitch Tuesday night as they host Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at 7:30 pm.
