Women's Soccer brings home SLIAC awards
St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne women's soccer season was cut short of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, but the Griffins established multiple post-season awards.
Junior Natalie Sipole was named to the SLIAC's First-Team All-Conference team. She started all 19 games this season with one goal and three assists. Sipole was the glue for the team in the midfield, directing traffic and her only goal was a game-winner.
Seniors Paige Pfankuch and Tayler Pulvirenti voted onto the Second-Team while Lyndsey Godier earned Third-Team All-Conference honors. All three have made their mark on the Griffins' program. Pfankuch and Godier have 77 and 76 career starts respectively, the top two all-time while Pulvirenti has Fontbonne's program record of 14 career shutouts.This year Pfankuch notched four goals and four assists while Godier recorded four goals and two assists. Pulvirenti ended her two-year Fontbonne career with a 22-13-3 record in goal.
Maddie Redohl's guidance and respect in the backfield wasn't overlooked as the sophomore was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
Fontbonne ended their season 9-9-1 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play.
