Senior Natalie Sipole earns women's soccer's first NSCAA Scholar All-Region honor
Fontbonne women's soccer senior midfielder Natalie Sipole earned the Griffins' first-ever NSCAA Scholar All-North/Central Region Third Team honors.
St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne women's soccer senior Natalie Sipole earned the Griffins' first-ever NSCAA Scholar All-North/Central Region honors.
Sipole, (Troy, Ill./Triad) who had a stellar year on the field, has also been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for her efforts off the field. Sipole was named as a third team all-region scholar as a midfielder with a 3.55 cumulative GPA as a Speech-Language Pathology major.
On the field, Sipole garnered NSCAA Third Team All-Central Region honors, just the third in the history of the program, was named to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team as well as First Team All-SLIAC, and was on the SLIAC All-Academic Team.
She finished the season with 11 assists, fourth most in program history and was 28th in the final NCAA Division III women's soccer statistical rankings as well as 45th in assists per game.
Sipole and her team made strides this season after advancing to their conference tournament championship game for the first time since 1996. The Griffins finished the season 12-7-2, the third most wins in program history.
Sipole was one of two SLIAC student-athletes nominated for the award, the other coming from Webster University. The full list of scholar winners can be found here.
