ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Fontbonne University women’s soccer net-minder, Mary Beers, has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Fontbonne University women's soccer net-minder, Mary Beers, has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Beers, a St. Louis, Missouri, native, earns the honor after her impressive display in net this past Saturday against Mount St. Joseph. The freshman totaled a career-high 15 saves in the 2-0 defeat against the Lions.
On the year, Beers' appeared in four games, totaling 360:00 minutes, allowing nine goals and making 28 saves for a save percentage of .757, which is third-best in the SLIAC.
The Griffins are back at it tomorrow afternoon as they'll pay a visit to Oakland City. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
