Women's Soccer Clinches Spot In SLIAC Tournament, Bass Records First Collegiate Hat-Trick in Win
ST. LOUIS, Mo.— For the 11th time in program history, including the 10th time in the last 11 years, the Fontbonne University women’s soccer team have clinched a spot in the SLIAC Tournament after a 6-0 win over Iowa Wesleyan on Senior Day.

The Griffins (10-5-1; 7-0 SLIAC), dominated from the start with a 55-1 shot advantage overall. Rebecca Bass led with her first collegiate hat-trick, while Kayla Collie and Darby Schaefering had three assists each. In net, Mary Beers picked up her fifth win.
In the first, the Griffins got on the board less than two minutes in as Bass received a pass from Collie and she beat Destiny Colon for the goal. Colon came up big for the Tigers throughout the game as she made 25 saves. They pushed the advantage out to 2-0 at 22:10 on Daniele Caruso's second goal on the season.
In the second half, Bass (two) Hannah Andrzejewski, and Darby Schaefering all scored en route to the 6-0 win.
At the conclusion of the game, the Griffins honored seniors Kelli Kinnikin, Maddie Tague, Hannah Andrzejewski, Daniele Caruso, Taylor Gianopulos, Kayla Collie and Darby Schaefering.
The Griffins look for its ninth straight shutout win in its regular-season finale in front of the home crowd on Tuesday in the Breast Cancer Awareness game against MacMurray. Kick-off at 6 p.m.
