How It Happened
The Griffins dominated play with a 15-1 shot advantage but Tigers starter Kylie Mulhern-Gullier came away with five saves to keep it a scoreless contest.
In the second, the Griffins continued to pepper Mulhern-Gullier and were able to finally break through in at the 70:03 mark.
Newcomer Krystal Kohenskey received the ball and dribbled her way towards the top of the box. She was able to send her shot past Mulhern-Gullier and inside the far-left post to give the Griffins the 1-0 lead and eventual one-goal victory.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Kohenskey was busy all morning filling up the stat sheet with a game-high nine shots with three landing on net.
- Molly Kovarik finished with four shots, while Kierstyn Weaver added three.
- Mary Beers picked up her first win on the season making two saves.
