ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team closed out nonconference play on Sunday with a 3-1 loss against Loras.
Game Breakdown
In the 17th minute, the Duhawks were awarded a corner kick and Abby Eriksen came through with the first goal of the game giving them a 1-0 lead.
That lead, however, was short-lived with Fontbonne answering in the 28th minute as Krystal Kohenskey scored her first on the season. Both teams were in a battle the rest of the way as it remained a 1-1 contest at the half.
In the second half, the Duhawks opened with a 3-0 shot advantage through the 58th minute of action but Mary Beers came away with two saves keeping it a tie game.
In the 63rd minute, the Griffins were handed a red card and were forced to be down a player the final 27 minutes. Loras took advantage in the 66th minute with Eriksen scoring her second of the game to break the tie.
The Duhawks added one more goal in the 84th minute from Caitlin Farrell and they were able to go on for the two-goal win.
Fontbonne Notables
- Kohenskey's goal was her eighth in her career at Fontbonne.
- Mary Beers made four saves in net.
