Fontbonne will open the First Round of the NCAA Tournament against No. 9 ranked and reigning American Rivers Conference (ARC) Tournament Champion, the Loras College Duhawks.
Fontbonne is off to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history after a 3-0 win over Webster in the SLIAC Championship. It's the first SLIAC Title for the Griffins since 1996. The team closed out the season winners of seven in a row with a scoring advantage of 30-1.
This will be the second time the Griffins and Loras meet up in 2021. Back on September 12th, the Duhawks came away with the 3-1 win over Fontbonne.
The Duhawks won their 16th A-R-C Tournament Title after winning the semifinals 1-0 (2OT) over Luther and closed out the championship with a 4-1 victory over No. 2 Wartburg.
