Women's Soccer Ties SLIAC Record With Eighth Straight Shutout
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s soccer team historic run continued on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Webster. The shutout victory is the eighth in a row for Fontbonne tying the SLIAC record with Webster set back in 2001.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women's soccer team historic run continued on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Webster. The shutout victory is the eighth in a row for Fontbonne tying the SLIAC record with Webster set back in 2001.
Both teams had its scoring chances in the first half, including Caitlyn Smith seeing her shot go off the crossbar, neither team was able to break the tie heading into halftime.
In the second half, the Griffins got on the board with Krystal Kohenskey scoring off an assist from Bianca Cortez-Perez. That proved to be all that was needed with the Griffins securing the shutout win.
Notes
- Kohenseky's goal was her seventh on the season tying her career-high.
- Cortez-Perez assist was her second on the year.
- Mary Beers made two saves for her 31st career shutout.
- Beers also just needs nine more minutes of shutout play in net to become the all-time leader in SLIAC history in consecutive shutout minutes played. The current record is 723:57.
