ST. LOUIS, Mo.—More records were broken on Thursday night for the Fontbonne University women's soccer team after they knocked off Spalding, 2-0.
The shutout was the Griffins ninth straight setting a new SLIAC record that was held by Webster in 2001. Mary Beers, meanwhile, set the SLIAC single season record with a scoreless streak in net reaching 805:28.
After a scoreless first half, the Griffins didn't wait long in the second half as Krystal Kohenskey scored her career-high eighth on the year into the far post off an assist from Cassidy Head.
Kohenskey struck again in the 69th minute getting behind the Golden Eagles defense and beating Jordan Schneider for the 2-0 final.
