Heather Flick earns All-Sportsmanship honors as Griffins fall in SLIAC Tournament
St. Louis, Mo. - This year's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament was held at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park in St. Louis, Mo.
Fontbonne, the No. 5 seed, fell to Westminster College, the No. 4 seed in the opening round of the SLIAC Tournament. This year, the teams began in singles play instead of doubles, the first team reaching five wins, advanced to the semifinal matchup. The Griffins fell 5-0 before senior Heather Flick was able to finish her first singles match of the day.
After a short lunch break, the Griffins went back to the singles courts to take on Blackburn College, their only win of the year. Again, the Griffins fell 5-0, this time before Celeste Herrmann had the chance to knock off her opponent.
Sophomore Annie Jones did not play in the tournament due to injury.
Flick was named to the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team following the event.
