Lincoln, Ill. - Fontbonne women's volleyball broke their three-game losing streak Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Lincoln Christian. The Griffins are now 9-13 overall.
A horrific first set saw Fontbonne with only eight kills as they fell 15-25.
Fontbonne was able to finish off sets two and three with 25-21 and 25-20 wins. The Griffins owned the third set as they finished the win with a 25-16 pounding.
Kersten McDonough tallied 25 kills with Lynsey Wehrenberg totaling 22 assists during the match. Maddie Stadler and Krista Beyer each led defensively with 16 digs apiece. McDonough added another 14 for the Griffins. Carissa Dodge recorded three block assists at the net with Jenny Wang totaling two on the evening.
The Griffins have the weekend off but play at Iowa Wesleyan on Monday as they take on the Blackburn as well as the host team. Tuesday, the Griffins travel to Principia. All three games are during the Fontbonne fall break.
