SLIAC announces Women's Volleyball Coaches Preseason Poll
St. Louis, Mo. - Fontbonne University women's volleyball was chosen to finish sixth in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play for the upcoming 2015 season. Last season's tournament winner, Webster University was picked second while regular-season champion, Greenville College claimed the top spot among the coaches.
It's head coach Meredith Heater's fourth season at the helm for Fontbonne. The team looks to improve on their 13-18 overall record and 7-11 SLIAC record with seven new Griffins and five returning starters. Fontbonne returns strong First-Team All-Conference junior outside-hitter Kersten McDonough, junior leading assister Lynsey Wehrenberg and new single-season ace record-holder, junior Maddie Stadler. Fontbonne opens their season with a scrimmage at neighboring Washington University on August 23rd and officially opens 2015 play at Webster University on September 1st, taking on Robert Morris Springfield and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
