Women's Volleyball Falls Against MacMurray And Eureka
JACKSONVILLE, Ill.—The Fontbonne University women’s volleyball team fell in straight sets against MacMurray (12-25, 18-25, 24-26) and Eureka (14-25, 21-25, 22-25) on Saturday.

MacMurray 3 Fontbonne 0
The Griffins (2-9; 2-6 SLIAC), had its struggles on the offensive side of the net with 34 kills and 32 errors for a season-low .018 hitting percentage. Kristina Eason, Karsyn Kulick and Megan McKenzie tied with seven kills each.
Abby Grumich handed out a season-high 21 assists. Defensively, Sarah Borgerding compiled a team-high 11 digs.
MacMurray (6-10; 3-2 SLIAC), owned a .193 hitting percentage, totaled 10 service aces and 14 block assists on the defensive side of the net.
Kamryn Flesner paced them on the offensive side of the net with 12 kills and a .286 hitting percentage. Logyn Little led the Highlanders with 10 digs.
In the first set, the Highlanders opened with a 14-1 lead. The team took advantage of the Griffins seven kills and 13 errors for a negative hitting percentage of -.176 en route to the 25-12 win.
After trailing 17-11 in the second, the Griffins offense crawled back into it as a solo block from Maura Rabun narrowed the deficit to 19-17. A service error kept the Griffins to within two (20-18), though the Highlanders collected the final five points for the 25-18 victory.
In the third, it was the Griffins this time around taking a 12-10 lead on Eason's kill. They maintained its marginal lead as the set went along and were up 23-21 on Kulick's kill.
MacMurray battled back and regained the lead at 24-23, but a kill from McKenzie evened up the score for the Griffins. The Highlanders closed out the match on a block assist and a kill from Taylor Westfall for the 26-24 set and match win.
Eureka 3 Fontbonne 0
Against the Red Devils, the Griffins totaled 35 kills, a .115 hitting percentage, and 26 digs. Kristina Eason tied a match-high with 11 kills. Karsyn Kulick contributed eight, while Victoria Curtice added seven. Grumich led Fontbonne at the setter position with 19 assists.
The Red Devils (3-11; 2-7 SLIAC), were led by the duo of Lexi Dooley and Heather Robinson who each had 11 kills.
It was a slow start for the Griffins in the first set with Eureka taking a 17-8 lead. Eureka was able to hang on from there and go on for the 25-14 win.
In the second, the Griffins were on top 16-8 this time around on Rabun's kill. The Red Devils, though continued to chip away at the lead and eventually met-up with Fontbonne at 21-21. Eureka collected the final four points to win, 25-21.
In the third set, a kill from Eason trimmed the deficit down to 15-13. The Red Devils responded with a 9-1 run to take a 24-16 advantage. The Griffins got to within two (24-22), but a kill from Robinson finished off the set and the match for the 25-22 win.
Fontbonne returns to action next Wednesday on the road at Blackburn. First-service goes up at 7 p.m.
