LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Fontbonne University women's volleyball team earned its first win the SLIAC Tournament for the first time since 2005 after knocking off Spalding in four sets.

Set Breakdown
Set 1: The Golden Eagles held a marginal lead throughout and stretched it out to 19-15 on a Fontbonne service error. The Griffins, though closed out the set on a 10-1 run for the 25-20 comeback win.
Set 2: Spalding opened the set with a 10-5 lead on Gabby Ellis' service ace. The Golden Eagles expanded its lead out to 17-7 and went on for the 25-15 set two win.
Set 3: The two teams were in a close contest throughout the third but Fontbonne led 20-17 on Jessica Molden's service ace. The Griffins still led 23-18 and that forced Spalding to take a timeout.
Out of the break, the Golden Eagles went on a 5-0 run to even it up 23-23. However, the Griffins were able to fend off the Golden Eagles and earn the important 28-26 victory.
Set 4: The Griffins took a 10-5 lead on Jadyn Fitzgerald's kill. The team led 18-11 but Spalding rallied with a 6-0 run and eventually met up with the Griffins at 20-20 on Hannah Holland's kill.
Fontbonne composed themselves and answered with a 4-0 run of its own and eventually grabbed the set and match win on Hannah Gallagher's kill.
Head-to-Head
- Fontbonne finished with 48 kills and a .109 hitting percentage in the win.
- Defensively, the Griffins ended up with 92 digs.
- Spalding totaled 45 kills and a .139 hitting percentage.
- The Golden Eagles had 83 kills and 17 block assists on the defensive side of the net.
- At the service line, the Golden Eagles committed 13 errors.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Jadyn Fitzgerald led the way recording her eighth double-double with a season-high 21 kills and 10 digs.
- Kelly Herr and Hannah Gallagher had six kills each. Olivia Tallo and Abby Grumich added four.
- Grumich recorded double-double number four on the year with 34 assists and a career-high 23 digs.
- Emma Pramik finished with 21 digs, while Rae Andrews (14) and Gallagher (11) each reached double-figures in digs.
