Women's Volleyball Falls In Four Against Eutectics

The Basics
Set 1: After the Eutectics trimmed the deficit down to 4-3, the Griffins went on a 9-0 run with consecutive kills from Jadyn Fitzgerald giving Fontbonne a commanding 13-4 lead.
UHSP made it interesting late narrowing the deficit down to 19-15 but Fontbonne closed out the set on a 6-0 run, including three straight block assists from Jardan Harpel, Hannah Gallagher, and Kristen Kaempfe for the 25-15 win.
It was a dominant first set for Fontbonne with 13 kills on 30 swings for a match-high .367 hitting percentage
Set 2: After trailing 13-8, the Griffins went on a 4-0 run with kills from Kelly Herr and Hannah Gallagher putting Fontbonne down by one. The Eutectics expanded its advantage to 20-14 and were able to fend off Fontbonne for the 25-20 win.
Set 3: It was point-for-point play in the third with Fontbonne trailing 14-13 on Fitzgerald's kill. A 4-0 run by the Eutectics gave them some breathing room on Danielle Underwood's kill. Fontbonne tried to pull a late rally but it was UHSP hanging on for the 25-20 victory.
After having 12 errors in the second, the Griffins bounced back offensively in the third with 10 kills and just one error for a .243 hitting percentage. However, the Eutectics posted a match-high 19 kills on 42 swings for a team-high .286 hitting percentage.
Set 4: The Eutectics had a 14-12 lead on Evelyn McQueen's kill but a 4-0 run by Fontbonne had them on top, 16-14. UHSP regained the lead but Fontbonne was right there down 21-20 on Hannah Gallagher's kill. The comeback was not to be, though with the Eutectics winning the set and the match, 25-22.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Gallagher recorded double-double No. 9 in her career with a match-high 15 kills and 12 digs.
- Fitzgerald also had a strong game on both sides of the net with double-double No. 8 in her career with 13 kills and 16 digs.
- Kelly Herr had eight kills and a season-high .429 hitting percentage.
- Kristen Kaempfe also set season-highs in kills (seven) and digs (eight).
- Jordan Harpel was dominant at the net tying her season-high with six kills and collecting five block assists.
- Ella Werner-Click handed out a match-high 38 assists.
- Emma Pramik posted a team and season-high 19 digs.
- Offensively, the Griffins finished with 51 kills and a .203 hitting percentage.
- Defensively, the team came away with 75 digs and 11 block assists.
