Griffins Fall to IC in Five-Set Thriller

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University women's volleyball team dropped a five-set thriller to Illinois College Tuesday evening. The team drops to 2-3 on the season.

The set scores were: 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 16-25, 15-12.

Prior to the game, Fontbonne's president Dr. Nancy Blattner and Director of Athletics Danielle Doerfler, recognized the women's volleyball team for winning the SLIAC Tournament as well as making an appearance at the NCAA Tournament. The players received a pendant followed by stickers that will be placed on the banner on the wall.

20 – Ella Werner-Click assisted in 20 of the Griffins' kills.

19 – Emma Harrop recorded 19 digs through five sets.

15 – The Griffins totaled 15 kills in the second set.

14 – Hannah Gallagher had a team-high of 14 points in the evening with five kills and nine digs.

10.5 – Jackie Drury totaled 10.5 points with seven kills, one block solo, and five block assists.

.419 – The Griffins recorded a .419 percentage in the fourth set with 14 kills.

The Griffins return to action at the Millikin Tournament on Sept. 22-23. On the first day, they will face Capital at 5:30 p.m. and then Knox at 7:30 p.m.
