Bio

Head men's and women's wrestling coach Chad Cook is pleased to announce the hiring of Jasmine Hernandez as an assistant coach.

"We're beyond excited for the opportunity to have Jasmine join us," said Cook. "To say that is a homerun hire would be an understatement, this is a grand slam hire! Being the first National Champion in any sport for Lyon College, she knows what it is like to pave your own path to be successful. Also, competing at the Olympic Trials, she's been at the pinnacle of our sport which is where we are working to get to."

"I'm extremely grateful for Fontbonne and Coach Cook to give me the opportunity to grow in my wrestling career," said Hernandez. "Being able to give back to the sport has always been a dream of mine and I cannot wait to show what I've learned so far on my journey, help others achieve their own goals and be the best versions of themselves."

Hernandez comes to Fontbonne after wrestling at Lyon College where she became the first women's wrestler in Lyon College history to become a National Champion at 123-pounds last year. That win also qualified her for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

In three seasons with the Scots, Hernandez was an All-American and tallied 55 wins, 19 pins, and 26 technical falls.
