Cross Country Shines At The University Of Evansville Invite
EVANSVILLE, Ind.— The Fontbonne University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in its final meet today before the SLIAC Championships at the University of Evansville Invite. The women’s team ended up in sixth, while the men’s team finished with two PR’s.
EVANSVILLE, Ind.— The Fontbonne University men's and women's cross country teams competed in its final meet today before the SLIAC Championships at the University of Evansville Invite. The women's team ended up in sixth, while the men's team finished with two PR's.
Montevallo took home the victory representing the women as they finished with a total time of 1:37:52 in the 5K. Individually, Katie Nelson (Montevallo), took home the win with a time of 18:06.0.
FBU runners, meanwhile, were separated by just seven spots after it was all said and done. Katie Gosser led with her time of 25:39.9 for 29th place, while Sarah Rhoads ended up right behind her in 30th at 26:11.8.
Emily Bay ran a strong race to finish in 31st at 26:20.9. Jennie Stare crossed at 26:49.1 for 32nd, while Colleen Gosser rounded it out for the Griffins at 29:47.3 for 36th place.
On the men's side, Jacob Dixon ran his way to a time of 30:48.2 which is a new personal-best time for the Sullivan, Missouri, native. Hayden Yates also ran a personal-best time of 36:17.0 to close out his day.

The team will return to the course on October 28th at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Championships held in Litchfield, Illinois.
