Cross Country Closes Out Its 2017 Season On A High Note
ROCK ISLAND, Ill.—The Fontbonne University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed today at the NCAA Midwest Regional. The women’s team took a big step as they improved by 58 points off last year’s total.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill.—The Fontbonne University men's and women's cross country teams competed today at the NCAA Midwest Regional. The women's team took a big step as they improved by 58 points off last year's total.
On the women's side, Sarah Rhoads led the group with a time of 28:51 which was just 24.0 seconds off her personal-record time. After setting a new PR time at the SLIAC Championships, Katie Gosser, ended up with a new PR time today at 28:57.
Emily Bay continued her stretch of running well as she improved her PR time by 12.0 seconds to finish with a time of 29:40.
Kayla Sheldon finished right behind her at 29:53, while Jennie Stare also narrowly hit a new PR as she crossed the line at 30:59. Colleen Gosser, meanwhile, crushed her previous personal-best by over a minute at 31:12.
On the men's side, Jacob Dixon ran his way to a time 29:50, while Hayden Yates closed out at 31:49.
