This week Fontbonne men's and Women's Cross Country traveled to Springfield Ill. to compete in the Prairie Star Invite.
Illinois-Springfield men's and women's team took first place at their home meet. While Millikin men's and women's team took second.
On the men's side
Fontbonne's Men's Cross Country was led by Freshman Domenick Blanchette with a time of 28.20.5 followed by Sophomore Austin Joyce (30:48.8) and close behind was Junior Juwan Lee. (31:08.0)
On the women's side
The griffins placed sixth as a team with an average time of 25:34. They were led by Senior Taylor Aurand who placed 36th with a time of 23:55.1 following close behind was Junior Emily Bay in 39th place with a time of 24:23.7. The Griffin's third, fourth, and fifth runners were sophomore Desiree Brooks(24:44.2), Freshman Patience VanderMierden(25:06.8) and Freshman Tamya Dixon(29:45.4).
The squad will be back September 14th for their Six Flags Home Meet.
