Fontbonne Cross Country Gets Season Started At St. Charles CC, Brooks Earns 15th Place Finish
ST. CHARLES, Mo.—The Fontbonne University cross country teams got its 2021 season underway on Friday night at the St. Charles Community College Opener.
ST. CHARLES, Mo.—The Fontbonne University cross country teams got its 2021 season underway on Friday night at the St. Charles Community College Opener.
On the women's side, Saint Louis University won the overall with 33 points. McKendree finished in second with 36 points, while Maryville followed in third with 59 points.
Individually, Kayla Tirey (McKendree) won the overall with a time of 16:16. Desiree Brooks set a personal-best time of 18:33 to finish in 15th.
On the men's side, Maryville took home the team title with 19 points. Host St. Charles Community College ended in second with 60 points.
Caleb Pyle (Maryville) won with a time of 19:19 as he edged out teammate Ethan Billingslea by 36.0 seconds.
Fontbonne, meanwhile was led by Cameron Clemons finishing at 27:10. KeYonn Hall-Baker followed right behind Clemens at 28:08. Ian Cordell timed out at 29:44, while Brandon Schmiedeskamp concluded his run at 30:52.
