Women’s XC Picked to Finish Fourth in SLIAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Fontbonne University women's cross country team has been picked to finish fourth in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the SLIAC announced this Tuesday.
"Our team and coaching staff are excited for the fourth-place preseason ranking, this is just the start for our all freshmen women's side," stated Head Coach Phillip Justin Halley. "These ladies have an unwavering determination to our goals and continue to impress me every day."
The Griffins received 50 points and one first-place vote.
"While this ranking reflects our program's potential, we are focused on the journey ahead of us. This team strives to become better every day, and we are expecting great things in the future from this squad. We could not have asked for a better group of women to represent our team, and as always, it's a great day to be a Griffin," added Halley.
The team welcome five newcomers.
The Griffins open their season on Saturday, Sept. 2 in the Memphis Twilight Classic hosted by University of Memphis.
