Bio

Royland Woods is a 1996 graduate of Fontbonne University with a major in Human Services. As a member of the Griffins basketball team, Royland was a two time St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first-team selection. His senior year, Royland was Co-Player of the Year,
averaging 18.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He holds the school record for blocks in a game with 15 and blocks in a season with 117. He was the force behind Fontbonne's school record 23-5 season in 1994. He helped lead Fontbonne to the SLIAC Tournament Championship in 1994. Royland led Fontbonne to SLIAC Championships in both years he played for the Griffins with a 13-1 record his first year and 14-0 his second year.

During his senior year, Royland led his team to a 19-6 overall record. Royland was named to the DIII News Honorable Mention All-American Team. Royland was inducted to the SLIAC Hall of Fame in 2007. He received the 1995 Albert Red Schoendienst Male Athlete of the Year Award at Fontbonne. He is married with one son. Royland transferred to Fontbonne from the University of Wisconsin-Milkwaukee.

Named to the SLIAC All-Decade Team in 2021.
