ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Gavin Lyday of Fontbonne University baseball team hit a home run in the second inning against the Eutectics of the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy.
The Eutectics defeated the Griffins in nine innings on Tuesday night, 4-1.
Josh Rhiney, Davin Smith, Bryce McKinnon and TJ Schwartz each recorded a hit. Lyday had one hit (home run), one RBI and scored one run.
Kendall Horton started on the mound for the Griffins. He pitched 1.0 inning and struck out two while allowing three hits and two runs.
Derek Morganthaler pitched 2.0 innings and struck out two while allowing one hit.
Vonner Panek pitched 3.0 innings. He struck out one while allowing three hits and one run.
